Marie Severson, Regional Councilor/ Executive Council Vice President
I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Communication Sciences & Disorders. I am thrilled to be going on to graduate school at UW-Stevens Point in the Fall of 2015!
I am happy to announce that I am also the 2015-2016 National NSSLHA Executive Council Vice President.
I enjoy music, reading, and cooking! I am also a building manager at an apartment complex near my campus. I love spending time with my fiance, friends, and my two cats Desmond & Annie.
I hope to work in a hospital setting in the NICU. My interests include swallowing, voice, craniofacial anomaly, and TBI. I am eager to see where my graduate coursework will take my interests.
I am thrilled to be your 2014-2017 Regional Councilor. I hope to be a great resource for all local chapters and want to connect you all at the national level. I am so excited to work closely with you!
Rebecca Pearson, Regional Delegate
I'm a first year graduate student at Illinois State University, a student advocate, and an animal lover from a southwest suburb outside of Chicago, IL.
The things I love most in life are being surrounded by family and friends, reading a good book, and jamming out to the radio. I’m always up for new adventures and really love to try new things!
On week days, you'll usually find me making lesson plans for my clients or trying to study for my classes while drinking a caramel macchiato. On the weekends I like to spend time with my friends shopping, spending time outside, or just watching a movie.
My dreams for the future are to become a licensed SLP working in the medical field. Maybe one day I will own my own private practice as well, but for now I am only concerned with making it through graduate school alive!
After being president of my local NSSLHA chapter, I yearned for another opportunity to help reach out to students. This desire led me to obtaining the position of Region 7 Delegate on the National Executive Council for NSSLHA. I look forward to working with all the NSSLHA members across region seven throughout the next two years!
