The University of Northern Iowa’s NSSLHA Chapter has been taking part in some great social and service events. They also have an exciting month ahead planned! Take a look!
-On February 26th, UNI will be hosting a fundraiser at The Other Place in Cedar Falls. They will be auctioning off two basketballs, with proceeds going toward Hands and Voices. Along with this, NSSLHA members and faculty and encouraged to come out and order pizza! A portion of all proceeds with also be donated toward Hands and Voices via the NSSLHA Loves Campaign.
-On March 3rd, NSSLHA is teaming up with the Cedar Valley Stuttering Youth Group for a social event. UNI will be showing The King’s Speech and holding a discussion panel consisting of their department head, and several individuals who stutter. Parents in the community with children who stutter are welcome to join in on the fun!
-On March 8th, UNI’s chapter has a large group of NSSLHA Members volunteering at the Special Olympics which take place in the UNI Dome. This event has been one of their members’ favorite volunteer activities in the past. They have roughly 65 students taking part this year! It will be an outstanding opportunity for not only the participants, but their volunteers as well.
